(MOORESVILLE, N.C. - August 6, 2012) - Due to a lack of sponsorship, Carter 2 Motorsports and driver Larry Barford Jr. have decided to part ways.

The No. 04 entry is currently 16th in owner points and is looking to sell the seat time for the remainder of the season starting as soon as this weekend at Berlin Raceway.

“We want to thank Larry for always giving 100% each and every race,” said owner Roger Carter. “This season has been a learning curve for our team and we hope to continue to build on the progress we have made. We wish Larry all the best in his future endeavors.”

Together, the team earned their best finish at Winchester Speedway where Barford Jr. drove the No. 04 1st Mariner Mortgage/Trauma Doc/ RAD Racing Dodge to a 15th place finish respectively. Barford Jr. worked his way up to 11th in driver points, after missing one race earlier this season.
