Post-Race Recap
Jared Marks
No. 12 Walgreens/SRT Motorsports Dodge Charger
In the rain shortened practices Jared and the TMR crew worked feverishly with limited track time to free up their No. 12 Dodge Charger.
Jared would qualify with a fast lap of 22.64; starting the race in 13th position.
Blown Tire Shortens Race for Jared and Team TMR
Taking the green flag with high hopes for the 200 lap race at Lucas Oil Raceway and incidentally one of Jared’s favorite tracks the first 20 laps were somewhat somber, moving up only 1 position. The first caution of the evening came at lap 20 and Jared would report to the crew that he was tight in center off and loose in, making the necessary on board brake adjustment he would restart the race in 11th on lap 25. Jared would have consistent lap times maintaining 12th position for the next 25 laps when the yellow would fly for the second time on the .686-mile track. It was time to bring the No. 12 Walgreens/SRT Motorsports Dodge Charger down pit road for 4 tires, fuel and adjustments to correct the loose conditions that Jared seemed to be fighting. Taking the green on lap 60 in 14th position Jared would battle for track position-fighting conditions that would leave him struggling to pass his competitors. Green flag conditions would continue for the next 46 laps; unfortunately the yellow would be brought out for the Jared due to a tire that had blown sending him barreling into the wall and causing damage to the right front taking Jared and Team TMR out of contention on lap 106, and they would post a 29th place finish.
Thirty five cars would take the green flag for the Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper 200. There were 6 cautions for 37 laps and an average speed of 83.72 mph.
Frank Kimmel takes the checkers- followed by Tom Hessert, Kevin Swindell, Brennan Poole and Mason Mitchell.
In his 10 attempts out of 13 ARCA Series races for the season Jared hangs on to 13th place in the standings.
Marks Post Race Comments: “I fought with tight and loose conditions most of the day with our No. 12 Dodge Charger; it made it hard to pass and tough to gain any track position during the race. Unfortunately we had a tire go down sending me into the wall half way through the race causing enough damage that we were not able to get back out leaving us with a disappointing 29th place finish for the weekend. My guys work really hard to bring good cars to the track each weekend and we could not get it where we needed to be. I guess this weekend was not our weekend.”
