Friday the 13th Strikes at Iowa Speedway for Team TMR

Forty cars took the green flag for the Prairie Meadows 200, posting 7 cautions for 45 laps.

Taking the green flag in 12th position for the start of the race Jared loses 4 positions quickly and thoughts of a tire going down plaguing his mind he received reassurance from crew chief Wayne Carroll that his car would come to him for the long run as soon as his tire pressures would build, and by lap 27 the No. 12 Dodge Charger was the second fastest car on the track steadily working towards the front of the field.  By lap 75 Jared had worked his way back to 11th position before the much needed caution would fly.  Taking on a four tires and a full load of fuel Jared would incur a speeding penalty at the end of pit road and restart the race in 11th on lap 82.  The next 32 laps would gain Jared and Team TMR only one position before the yellow flag would fly but most of the leaders would stay on the track for the green flag on lap 121; Jared would restart 9th.   Only six laps later another caution would fly and the crew would bring Jared in for the second set of tires and fuel to restarting the race on lap 144 in 13th position.   A quickie yellow interrupted shortly and green flag racing would resume on lap 150, Jared would run his fast time of the day on lap 154 and he had worked his way up to a strong 10th place run when he would get tied up in an on track incident knocking him out of the race with only 16 laps to go where he would end his day in 25th position.

Alex Bowman wins his third race of 2012- followed by Grant Enfinger, Chad Boat, Clay Rogers and Frank Kimmel rounding out the top 5.

In his 8 attempts out of 11 ARCA Series races for the season Jared currently sits 13th place in points.

Marks Post Race Comments: “Our No. 12 Dodge Charger was better on the long runs.  After making our first pit stop I felt confident we would have a pretty good finish if the race would continue the way it was, but it didn’t happen that way.  The frequent cautions kept us from the long green flag runs we were hoping for.  We were 10th with only 16 laps to go and we got knocked out of the race-in this series Iowa just isn’t the place we can run 3-wide.  We have a short week ahead and I am looking forward to getting to Chicagoland Speedway for our race on Saturday.”
