(SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - July 10, 2012) - Grant Enfinger celebrated Independence Day last week by seeing the United States of America through the windshield of his pickup truck, as he drove from Charlotte to Springfield, Ill.
He arrived at the Allgaier Motorsports shop Wednesday evening, and then spent the night working with crew chief Kelly Kovski on the #36 ARCA car which he will drive at Iowa Speedway Friday evening.
Grant & Kelly tested the car at Iowa Thursday afternoon, and feel that improvements were made by the end of the test session. "We will get some more speed out of the car, but we were working on different setups and we know more now that we have tried those setups on the track. We feel we can be competitive at a track which has been good to us."
Grant drove the Allgaier car to a 4th place finish at Iowa Speedway last year. He raced his own BeasleyAllen car to a 3rd place finish at Iowa in 2010. The Iowa track is considered to be one of the finest race facilities in the country. Fans pack the speedway for ARCA and NASCAR races whenever the national touring series appear there.
The ARCA race will be televised live on Speed TV Friday night at 8 p.m. For more information on the race, visit www.arcaracing.com .
