(MILLVILLE, N.J. - July 2, 2012) - Matt Lofton and Coulter Motorsports’ No. 16 Strutmasters.com Chevrolet team finished 25th in Sunday’s All-American Race Weekend 150 at New Jersey Motorsports Park after sustaining heavy damage during a mid-race incident.

Kicking off the weekend’s festivities with two-practice sessions on Saturday, Lofton used the valuable time to learn how to circumvent the 12-turn facility. Marking his first ever trip to a road course, Lofton worked closely with his Coulter Motorsports crew to gain the comfort level and normalcy the Roxboro, N.C. native typically feels on the ovals.

After a group qualifying session Saturday evening, Lofton was ready to start Sunday’s race 17th after laying down a fast lap of 85.550 seconds at 94.681 MPH. Setting in for the long haul, Lofton found his pace, while spotter Jason Reiner coached the Rookie of the Year contender around the tricky track.

Unfortunately while maintaining his 17th place position, riding the car out until the first pit stop, Lofton’s car hit a pile of dirt thrown on the track by a competitor, sending him uncontrollably into the fence. While the hard hit did not affect Lofton, his No. 16 Strutmasters.com Chevrolet suffered race ending damage, forcing the team to a 25th place finish.
