(MOORESVILLE, N.C. - June 27, 2012) - A retired 10-year veteran of the Howard County Police Department in Maryland, Larry Barford Jr. has had his share of evasive driving experience.  

Larry hopes that the skills he learned while protecting the public will give him an added advantage at his first road course race on July 1st.   Barford Jr will take his #04 VAMortgage.com/1^st Mariner Mortgage/Madison Settlement Services/Trauma Doc Dodge Charger to New Jersey Motorsports Park as part of the All American Race Weekend presented by Global Barter Corporation.

“I am really excited about coming to a road course.  I haven’t raced one of these since my days in Kart racing, but I am hoping that all those years of navigating traffic while trying to apprehend a suspect will pay off at the ARCA 150 by Global Barter Corporation.   There are definitely similarities when trying to chase down the leader” laughed Barford.   Barford had reason to be happy, he posted an ARCA career high finish of 15th the Herr’s Chase the Taste 200 in Winchester after a spectacular crash in Michigan made him a YouTube sensation.   Larry’s 15^th place finish moved him up to 14^th in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards championship points standings.  

The ARCA 150 by Global Barter Corporation will take place on July 1^st at 1pm.  The 67 lap (150 mile) race will be the ARCA Racing Series only road course stop of the season, taking place at New Jersey Motorsports Park.  The race will be part of a shared weekend of events with SCCA races as part of the All American Race Weekend presented by Global Barter Corporation.   Live timing and scoring will be available for practice, qualifying and the race at www.arcaracing.com
