Raineater Wiper Blades 200 Preview
ARCA RACING SERIES - RACE 8 OF 20 –Michigan International Speedway
TRACK FACTS: Michigan International Speedway recently completed its fourth repave project in the track’s 44-year history. The track was built in 1968 and repaved in 1977, 1986 and 1995. For the 2012 repave, 22,000 tons of asphalt were placed on the two-mile oval surface — enough to construct about 5 ½ miles of a two-lane county road.
JARED ON SECOND SPEEDWAY START: “I’m excited about racing at Michigan, we tested here and it went really well it was my first time on MIS, I was really happy with the way the car handled. The guys have been doing a great job each week giving me good cars. I know we are capable of bringing home a solid top-5 this week.”
TEAM TMR ON MICHIGAN INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY: “We tested earlier last month with this brand new chassis. We were really happy with the overall performance, ARCA has made some changes to the package since the test to slow the cars down, but we will be fine. Jared adjusted to Pocono rather quickly- it was his first time on a superspeedway so I am pretty confident he will take to Michigan the same”, comments crew chief Wayne Carroll.
TMR CHASSIS #010: This 110” chassis is brand new for the team. They tested it at Michigan International Speedway last month and were very pleased with the results. ARCA has made some rule changes after the open test but the team feels that they have a car to run up front all weekend.
JARED FAST FACTS: Currently sitting 9th in points Jared has acquiring 4-top 10’s and a top 20 out of the five races he has competed in. This will be his second speedway career start.
DID YOU KNOW….Two current TMR crew members were part of the Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates team No. 40 Coors Light Dodge Intrepid R/T with Sterling Marlin behind the wheel; giving Dodge its first Cup Series win at Michigan International Speedway in 2001.
RACE INFORMATION: Schedule of events for the Raineaters Wiper Blades 200 begins Thursday, June 14th with practice from 4:10-5:40PM, followed by Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell on Friday, June 15th at 10:0AM. The start of the Raineaters Wiper Blades 200 is at 5:15PM. Catch all of the action live on SPEED beginning at 5:00PM, all times are eastern. Live timing and scoring for the 80 lap/200 mile event is available at arcaracing.com.
WEEKEND APPEARANCES: Jared will be making an appearance at “Race Fest” in Brooklyn’s downtown square on Thursday, June 14th from 6-7:00PM and will also drop in at the MIS Rookie Pit Stop on Friday afternoon for a unique meet and greet fan experience. The MIS Rookie Pit Stop will be located near the main Gate 24 ticket office in the New Holland Fan Plaza.
THE DODGE EXPERIENCE AT MIS: The Dodge Experience display heads to Michigan International Speedway this weekend, and will feature an enter-to-win sweepstakes, interactive fan activities, and vehicles such as the new Dodge Dart, which hits dealerships this month. Visitors to the Dodge Experience can register for several ongoing promotions, including the chance to win a new 2013 Dodge Dart or $45,000 toward the purchase of a Chrysler Group vehicle. Other fan-friendly activities include driver appearances, free photos with the Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger race cars, trivia contests, a spin-to-win wheel and promotional giveaways.
